​Operation Mr. ED's Intervention

A short term campaign to mobilize members to seek involvement from their Congresspeople to ensure Department of Education provisions FY24 anticipated funds towards JCLSA implementation in 2024 and seek accountability of ED/FSA on two legal milestones, 45 days from enactment (May 7, 2024) and 60 days from enactment (May 22, 2024).​

Criteria for Temperature Check

The crieteria for Temperature Check is specific to your Congress people's response regarding the following requested actions:
​

1. Collaborate with JCLSA champions, like Senators Mark Warner [D-VA] or John Cornyn [R-TX].
2. Actively voice support to their Appropriations Committee that holds ED accountable to a line item for PL117-200 (JCLSA) implementation using existing funding.
3. Actively intervene with ED to urge them to include a line item for PL117-200 (JCLSA) implementation using existing funds.
Cold
​Cold indicates no intention of collaborating, actively supporting or intervening on any of the actions above.
Warm
​Warm indicates some intention of collaborating.  The Congress person is receptive and has expressed interest in understanding this issue and may communicate with JCLSA champions on the issue.
Very Warm
Very Warm indicates some intention of collaborating, actively supporting or intervening.  The Congress person has communicated intent to  take action on one of the actions described.
Hot
The Congressperson is receptive and has communicated the intent to take action on any combination of more than one of the actions described. (Please indicate which actions in the following Notes question for each Congressperson.)
Unknown
The Congressperson has been generally unresponsive, has provided no direct response on this issue.  Or, they responded with a boilerplate, a fielded answer, or irrelevant information.
